About Catnip Oil (Catnip)

Catnip - a genus of plants from the Lyme family. It includes about 250 species. They are found in the temperate zones of Europe, Asia, North Africa and mountainous areas in tropical Africa. the oil has a very interesting scent color and is perfect for perfume blends with fresh notes.

Catnip oil is also very effective in repelling mosquitoes, and works great in repelling all kinds of biting insects.

The active ingredient in the essential oil is nepetalactone. We usually recommend mixing with other insect repellent oils as the price of the oil is much higher than other "classic" insect repellent oils (Citronella, Geranium, Cedarwood and Lemongrass). Catnip should be used in a much lower concentration; about 1-3%. It can be effectively mixed with the other oils in the base for an effective insect repellent without worrying about the potential harm of commercial chemicals.

Natural oils can sensitize you, so before using it in perfumes, you should test a small amount of the oil on your skin for at least 24 hours, if there is no reaction, you can use it for the production of perfume or toilet water.
