This oil has a sweet, rich aroma similar to valerian (valerian) but more sweet and delicate.

Today it is rarely used in perfumes

Spikenard is a delicate aromatic herb native to the mountainous regions of northern India. It is one of the early fragrances used by the ancient Egyptians and is mentioned in the Bible, in the Song of Solomon, and in the Book of John, where Mary used it to anoint Jesus' feet.

To be used correctly oil concentrates should be diluted in proportions to produce perfumes.

Dosage:

The most durable perfume extracts contain up to 40% of oils (usually 25%).

ESDP (Esprit de Parfum) contain 15-30% oils.

EDP Eau de Parfum contain 12-25% oils

Eau de Toilette (EDT) contain 6-18% oils

Colognes contain about 5-7% oils.

Aftershaves contain 2-4%.

Refreshing waters, i.e. mists - up to 5%.

To create your own perfume or aromatic water, you should mix the oil compositions with alcohol, usually 80%, and leave it in a dark place for at least 3 weeks. It is advisable to shake the perfume bottle at least once a day in order to better mix the oil with alcohol.

After 3 weeks, the perfume is ready for use.

About the oil: Nardostachys Jataman (Spikenard oil)

Spikenard grows wild in the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 meters. It can reach up to 1 meter in height. Spikenard is considered a sacred plant, both medically and spiritually. It is an integral part of the Indian Ayurvedic tradition. It is used to develop awareness and strengthen the spirit.

Sesquiterpene aldehyde: valerian (5.682%)

Sesquiterpenes: beta-gurjunene (5.557%), 9-aristolen-1-ol (5,382%), guaia-6,9-diene, and + MW204 (4,509%)

Sesquiterpene ketone: valeranone (4.461%)

Natural oils can sensitize you, so before using it in perfumes, you should test a small amount of the oil on your skin for at least 24 hours, if there is no reaction, you can use it for the production of perfume or toilet water.
