Method of production: steam distillation of the fermented dried leaves of the patchouli plant


A fragrance ingredient mainly used in the production of perfumes and toilet waters

smell: sweet, reminiscent of earth, it is very persistent

patchouli oil is most often combined with other oils and perfumery compositions

To be used correctly oil concentrates should be diluted in proportions to produce perfumes.

Dosage:

The most durable perfume extracts contain up to 40% of oils (usually 25%).

ESDP (Esprit de Parfum) contain 15-30% oils.

EDP Eau de Parfum contain 12-25% oils

Eau de Toilette (EDT) contain 6-18% oils

Colognes contain about 5-7% oils.

Aftershaves contain 2-4%.

Refreshing waters, i.e. mists - up to 5%.

To create your own perfume or aromatic water, you should mix the oil compositions with alcohol, usually 80%, and leave it in a dark place for at least 3 weeks. It is advisable to shake the perfume bottle at least once a day in order to better mix the oil with alcohol.

After 3 weeks, the perfume is ready for use.

ABOUT THE OIL OF PATCHOULA

Patchouli oil is a natural fragrance that fixes fragrances and gives them a "sensual" note. That is why it is widely used in the production of cosmetics, perfumes, soap and deodorants

It is an important and valuable raw material for the perfume industry (especially the French school), where it is widely used. In high-end perfumes, its content is mandatory. This oil gives them strength, character, charm and durability.

Since patchouli oil perfectly masks unpleasant taste and smell, it is used as a flavoring agent for food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Natural oils can sensitize, so before using it in perfumes, test a small amount of the oil on your own skin for at least 24 hours, if there is no reaction, you can use it for the production of perfume or toilet water.
