Castoreum is a great fixative
XPP2061
Castoreum is the secretion of the anal glands of the beaver.
Natural Castoreum can be obtained in two ways. Either macerate the dried beaver glands directly, or extract the secretion that has drained from the glands into the scent vesicles. After excision, the glands must be handled in a strictly defined manner (first drying, then cooling, under strictly defined conditions). After these operations, the glands are durable and calmly transported to the companies involved in obtaining castoreums. However, if we want to extract the secretion from the vesicles, they must first mature for up to two years.
In Europe, the production of natural castoreum is prohibited for humanitarian reasons.

Nowadays, the natural castoreum has been replaced with a chemically synthesized castoreum entirely obtained in the laboratory. Synthetic castoreum is found in famous perfume compositions such as Guerlain Shalimar, Coty Emeraude, Lancôme Magie Noire, Chanel Antaeus, Paul Gotard a Giverny, Givenchy III Hubert de Givenchy, Santa Maria Novella Colonia Russa and many others.
the composition of castoreum has a characteristic animal, wild, erotic, sensual aroma.

It is advisable to shake the perfume bottle at least once a day in order to better mix the oil with the alcohol. After 3 weeks the perfume is ready for use.

Oils and compositions can sensitize, so before using them in perfumes, test a small amount of the composition on the skin for at least 24 hours, if there is no reaction, you can use it for the production of perfume or toilet water.
